Shani Samuel, LSW
Shani helps clients move through some of life's most disorienting moments, navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship stress, grief, loss, and significant life transitions. She understands these experiences as shaped by personal history as well as broader social, cultural, and systemic forces. She is dedicated to building trusting, respectful, and open relationships where clients can feel safe exploring these experiences and working toward meaningful goals together.
Her approach is warm and collaborative, and she draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring care to each client's needs and preferences so therapy remains responsive and aligned with what is most meaningful to them. Whether integrating cognitive-behavioral tools or mindfulness-based strategies, she focuses on building a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful growth and change.
With a BA in Biopsychology and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Shani brings both a scientific understanding of human behavior and a deeply human-centered approach to her work. She has experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of life stages and emotional needs. Outside of therapy, Shani enjoys doing puzzles and crosswords, knitting, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
